I joined the staff of St. Patrick’s in January 1999. As a former pupil and member of the local community, I have a deep commitment to the school. I have served as Head Teacher since April 2007, seeing the school through many improvements and taking it from a satisfactory judgement in 2007 to good with outstanding features in 2011. My aim is to continue to improve what the school has to offer our pupils and their families so that each child can fulfil their potential and make their unique and valuable contribution to our school community and beyond. I have not always been involved in education and my professional background is wide ranging and includes administrative work and sales. I attended Durham University as a mature student while my own children were very young and since graduating I have worked in two primary schools, one large (300+ on roll) and this, small Catholic primary school. The school’s drive towards excellence is well supported by the effective working relations that exist between pupils, staff, parents and governors and by the good support it receives from other agencies.
